Change of Plans & Future Plans: 2 Giveaway Formats and Moving to Opensea

The First Auction Drop: OpenSea

So we’ve spent days forking contracts, writing bulk minting scripts, trying to figure out on chain metadata. All of the stuff that is boring that nobody really cares about but affects the long term efficacy of NFPs.

We have been planning on launching on Bounce and are even building custom interfaces that will live on our sites for future drops but we’re up against the wire and we had to make a call, delay again or use OpenSea.

We hope to release this interface soon but we aren’t there yet (this project was alpha leaked and we just started rolling with it, we had hoped to launch sometime next week or the week after).

Not all the NFPs in this image are real NFPs. Some of them are prototypes. This is our Proof of Work.

We are building, it’s just taking time.

We didn’t only pick OpenSea out of convenience, we appreciate their willingness to quickly verify Non-Fungible Pepes & they’ve been laying the groundwork for the NFT ecosystem on Ethereum for a very long time.

Official Rules (Updated):

We will gradually launch NFPs for auction over the following days as we get our ducks in a row. Every auction will be set for 24 hours so everyone has a chance to bid.

So here is how it will work while we build our custom interface:

  1. We had to change the minimum to 1 ETH (not mint fees). We understand that is going to piss some people off but this is a limitation of OpenSea’s interface and they actually made it for good reason: gas fees.
  2. Minimum bid increments will be .05 ETH (minting price). If there are no higher offers after reserve price at the time of the auction, we will accept the bid.
  3. The auction officially ends tomorrow (2/20) at 3pm EST.
We have more NFPs coming. But we’re unsure of how many we can get up by tomorrow.

We actually ARE toying around with the concept of providing some NFPs via a bonding curve, especially after the first drops but we aren’t committing to anything. This has almost become an experiment in NFT distribution formats and that’s cool in and of itself.

Nobody expected this to blow up like this, I wanted to change my profile picture and did it for the Keks. Shout out to Tim Kang for helping with everything from the first call or this would have never happened. He is a good dude. We’re managing a lot of hype and emotion at the moment, so please be patient. Also, we still have A TON of NFPs to mint and drop. So again, please be patient.

Part of the fun of this so far, for me at least, has been using all of the toys around the Ethereum & NFT ecosystem to find ways to distribute pepe.

Community Giveaways

In our article yesterday, we said we’d be giving away 36 NFPs to community in a discretionary capacity. This is basically just getting involved in the project and helping along the way. Many people have reached out and we’ll likely use Twitter to make announcements for help we need and where. We’d like to collaborate with artists on drops, we need as many Solidity developers long term that we can get, and if anyone is super experience in game theory design, we’d love to talk.

Or you can just get active in the community. You can make introductions or come up with clever ideas for community giveaways. Please don’t bombard me with spam marketing proposals, the hype is already here, we don’t need help marketing. If anything, it’s hurting the image of NFP. We need people who want to build cool things with us, long term, for where we are going with all of this.

Treasure Hunts

The giveaways will be a little disorganized but that’s fine. We started this less than a week ago, and here we are getting ready for auctions. We like the idea of creating treasure hunts around Ethereum for NFP community drops. Some may be gameable in retrospect and some will be perfect. We’re trying our best.

Giveaway Drop 1:

We are going to collect the ETH addresses of a few thousand community members in Discord (will take a few days or so we think). We will then livestream (Tyler and Tim) doing a random Chainlink number generator (shout out to Chainlinkgod) to determine a random number.

That random number will receive an NFP.

Okay, nice.

As a disclaimer: this will become chaotic (as is our Discord way) so if you get banned, understand we are having a tough time building, and managing the community simultaneously. It’s a party in there, and like parties, sometimes bouncers throw people out. We’ll probably move to “kicking” people instead of banning. But we have to manage the chaos somehow no matter what people say online for our intentions for doing this.

We expect this to take a few days but the process will begin sometime tomorrow.

Giveaway Drop 2:

We’re going to deposit into the no loss lottery for Pool Together that ends on Monday (2/22) @ 2pm EST.

We understand that this may turn into a whale race but we love Pool Together and want to harness their technology.

It’s a no loss lottery so the money you deposit, you will get back.

The official pool we are using is here:

We will try to make sure every Community Giveaway is as equitable as possible going forward. This will start bumpy and grow into something cool.

We would love ideas. We love you all.
